New concept

I've come across an interesting theory... It seems like there is something to "food combining" I read the book "optimal nutrition for optimal health" and it sounded pretty solid. The book basically states that the digestive system needs different stuff to break down different foods, and if you combine those types of food (ie. starch and protein) your stomach won't be able to properly break down the food. In this book it also noted something that really got me thinking. It says that the digestive system is only capable of creating so many enzymes at a given time, and if you try to digest more than say... 7 or 8 oz's of meat, it will just sit in your gut and rot, ultimately poisoning you. If you know anything about the warrior diet by now you know that large quantities of food must be consumed in the evening to maintain your energy levels during the day. in fact, more than 2500 calories is recommended. This poses a problem, I think I've been over-taxing my digestive system. My plan of attack? Bromelain, its a natural enzyme they get from pineapple, and it helps your body digest meat. We'll see if that does anything.

I've been doing a mix of zone/IF since I started doing Crossfit workouts. Like for breakfast I'll have a handful of almonds and a small (8 oz) yogurt/milk/fruit smoothie. Then I have a protein shake after morning workout. Then some tuna and cottage cheese for lunch. Then I start my salad when I get home and then I go from there. This allows me to have a smaller "big meal" at night which I like better.
